Spruce Pool
Spruce Pool has been open for over one hundred years, initially as an indoor pool and then converted to an outdoor pool in 1953. Why might an $80,000 line-item result in the closure of a 104-year-old pool? Nobody knows. This lack of transparency is unacceptable. The community deserves better. Spruce Pool stays open under my watch.

Vote for One or Five?
A common question in the last week has been, “How many people should I vote for”. They are asking about city council and the fact that you can vote for up to five candidates. My response is to vote for those who you have full conviction. If your views are meh (indifferent) on a candidate that you vote for, you may help elect them instead of your high conviction candidate(s). Yes, there is a possibility that the votes for your “meh” candidates will put them ahead of folks that rank lower.
Ryan Jamieson, who I have high conviction for, advocates for a similar strategy of having conviction be your guide of how many people to vote for along with much more detail (rjforboulder.com/ideas/bullet-vote). It is a solid read.
In the end, the most important thing to do is to vote, the second is to vote to your desired level of conviction.
